«The Selargius industrial zone has lost one of its most representative faces» . The consortium of entrepreneurs working beyond the 554 remembers the president Rodolfo Monaco , who died in the tragic accident on the State Road 125 , just outside Solanas.

Monaco, 78, a resident of the Quartu coast, had been a key figure in the Selargina industrial area for years, a promoter of the consortium, and at the forefront of efforts to improve the safety of the 554.

"An entrepreneur and a man who dedicated a significant portion of his life to the growth of the industrial area, in which he was also one of the first to believe, choosing to locate his business there when few yet understood its potential," recalls the Zais consortium.

In recent years, his voice has been among the most forceful in calling for greater road safety, denouncing the critical issues along State Road 554 and other key arteries in our region. It's sobering to see the fate of a man whose business once helped build roads, and who now leaves us precisely because of a tragic accident on another road that has long been a source of concern and caution. A deeply affecting coincidence that urges everyone to never let their guard down when it comes to road safety. Although not a native of Selargius, Rodolfo Monaco chose this business community as his home, serving everyone with determination, poise, and a sense of institutional responsibility. His courage has now been halted, but it leaves a mark on the history of our industrial area.

Mayor Gigi Concu also remembered him on social media: "He was an active and committed man in our area, head of Zais, the association that brings together entrepreneurs in the industrial zone. Among his battles was the one to secure the safety of the 554, the same safety that this afternoon was lost on another road, the 125, stained with blood and bringing further suffering to our community . On behalf of myself and the entire municipal administration," Concu added. "I extend my deepest condolences to his relatives, family, and friends.
