The Sassari Provincial Industrial Consortium is continuing its redevelopment of the production areas of Porto Torres, Sassari-Truncu Reale, and Alghero-San Marco . In the coming days, the roundabout between Via Vespucci and Via dell'Industria, a strategic hub for internal and external traffic within the production area, will be completely renovated at the main Porto Torres site.
The project envisions an integrated approach that combines functionality and aesthetic enhancement: in addition to resurfacing the surfaces and water connections, a new automated irrigation system will be installed and landscaping will be landscaped with Mediterranean plants—including rosemary, lavender, and landscape roses—designed to ensure sustainability, low water requirements, and visual quality.
The project also includes excavation and pipelaying, road and sidewalk restoration, and a scheduled maintenance plan for the roundabout, including mowing, pruning, and tree replacement.
The renovation of the roundabout, which will transform one of the busiest entrances to the industrial area, is part of the Consortium's sustainable renewal efforts, fully respecting the environment and the local area. These efforts include a memorandum of understanding with the Municipality of Porto Torres for the removal and coordinated management of abandoned vehicles and materials along the consortium's roads, with the goal of improving the environmental quality and decorum of the area and the city as a whole. At the same time, the Consortium has developed a comprehensive plan to renew the signage at the three sites to improve orientation, safety, and the overall identity of the production areas.
The old, deteriorated signs will be replaced with new, clearer and more legible signs . This will ensure visual consistency and immediate information, while also strengthening the overall image of the industrial areas. In the Porto Torres industrial area, the new signage will be distributed extensively along the main and secondary axes, with particular attention to plant entrances and high-traffic areas, with over twenty information points.
At Sassari-Truncu Reale, the project includes a complete reorganization of internal signage, with over ten new signs installed at main road junctions and access points. At Alghero-San Marco, dedicated signage will also be installed for specific areas, such as the soon-to-be-opened Posidonia oceanica processing plant. These works represent a further step forward in the modernization of the consortium's infrastructure and meet the needs of businesses in terms of accessibility, urban decor, and functional space.
