Toys that do not comply with safety regulations: the seizure in Olbia
In trouble the owner of the store, who will have to answer for a fine of up to 10 thousand euros
Anti-fraud operation of the Customs and Monopolies Agency which, in a store in Olbia, confiscated about a hundred toys that did not comply with the appropriate safety standards.
Specifically, 78 pieces including the famous “POP IT” (anti-stress for children made of colored soft plastic) were found to be non-compliant with safety standards and lacking the CE marking, and therefore subjected to administrative seizure.
For 38 articles bearing the non-compliant CE marking, including 20 plush toys depicting the characters of the famous TV series “Squid Games”, a report was made to the judicial authority for commercial fraud and for the use of products with non-compliant signs.
The operator is subject to a penalty ranging from a minimum of 1,500 to a maximum of 10,000 euros.
Further investigations are also underway for any violations of intellectual property rights.
The operation was carried out jointly with the Local Police.
