Tossilo waste-to-energy plant, towards a new postponement of the opening

The start-up of the new waste-to-energy plant must take place with the necessary guarantees. For this reason, the start-up of the new plants will probably not be possible even in January. The problem was addressed in the city council meeting last Friday, raised by city councilor Federico Castori, who highlighted the lack of a valid industrial plan, which takes into account a series of problems, in particular regarding the ash produced.
What to do with this ash? Where to store it and where to send it? Not only that. To make the entire system work, the staff currently employed by Tossilo Spa is not sufficient. Of the 24 workers left, 8 are administrative, 8 will be employed in the composting plant, so the other 8 left, for obvious reasons alone cannot manage the entire incineration system. It is therefore necessary to hire staff who must be trained before operating in the plants.
In recent days, a letter from the Province arrived at the Municipality regarding the plan for the start of testing of the systems. The mayor is asked to make the necessary observations on the testing plan by January 7. Riccardo Uda responds: "To make observations, they must also send me the testing plan. The Municipality does not have these documents. Everyone now wants to rush, without worrying about guarantees, but they do not realize that I am not a vigilant author, but a leading author. They must realize that in Macomer there is a mayor". Riccardo Uda himself states that what was proposed by the Region, directly by the president Alessandra Todde, in the institutional meeting held on November 26 in Cagliari, remains firm. On that occasion, it was decided to have a new meeting within two weeks, but the month of December has now passed with nothing done.
