A dolphin carcass washed up on the cliffs of Castelsardo. The municipality was notified yesterday morning by the Port Authority of Porto Torres, which alerted the relevant authorities to the presence of the lifeless dolphin, washed ashore by sea currents on the rocks of Lu Bagnu. Operators from Crama, the Marine Animal Recovery Center, arrived on site to conduct an initial analysis of the cause of death, measuring its length and weight. The municipal administration immediately alerted volunteers from the Maritime Rescue and Civil Protection Volunteer Corps to organize the recovery. Yesterday morning, the carcass was transported to the port where it was handed over to the Econova company, authorized for disposal according to procedures. Given its condition, the animal had been dead for several hours. Dolphins found stranded often fall victim to fishing boats or equipment, accidents that can often have serious consequences.
