A group of volunteers (Sos metaldetector and Legambiente) with the (free) patronage of the Municipality of Tortolì cleaned up the rocks of Foxi Lioni, which were smeared with red paint in recent days. The consortium proposed to carry out the cleanup without profit. The initiative was promoted by Giorgio Falchi, president of the Sos metaldetector association, with the help of Francesco Serra's company from Cagliari, specialized in sandblasting, which had conducted the cleanup of the rocks on the coast of Baunei. The operation was carried out today.

"We used natural products, sandblasting with natural local silica sand and then - explained Falchi - we washed the rocks with fresh water to restore the state of the places."

The cleanup operation was also attended by municipal councilors Vincenzo Nieddu and Fausto Mascia and the councilor with responsibility for the Environment, Riccardo Falchi, who immediately after the events of May 21 had assured short times for the cleanup.

"The voluntary coordination of the people who took part in the intervention is a gesture that gives us hope for the future," commented Falchi.

The events of ten days ago occurred during the night. The perpetrators of the vandalism showed their displeasure with the Agenda 2030, a global action program, signed by all member countries of the United Nations, which defines 17 goals and 169 targets to achieve sustainable development by 2030.
