European Cohesion funds must be used to enable the development of peripheral regions, not for rearmament. "I am extremely concerned."

This is the position of the President of the Region, Alessandra Todde, expressed on the sidelines of the plenary session of the Committee of the Regions in Brussels. A statement in line with the national 5 Star Movement, which has been against the European investment program in the Defense sector since the beginning.

"I think that cohesion funds are a fundamental tool for the development especially of the most peripheral contexts of Europe. In my region, Sardinia", the governor underlined, "we would like to see the cohesion funds increasingly decentralized. We have seen them work well in other contexts for the relaunch of the territories. And we would never like to see them used instead for other policies, especially with regard to rearmament".
