The waterfront is a candidate to become the beating heart of the city. And for this reason the Port Authority is carrying out – as far as it is responsible – a series of initiatives which complete the masterplan of works capable of obtaining definitive consecration for the waterfront also from a tourist point of view.

For now, the state-owned maritime concessions for the three kiosks on the Su Siccu seafront in Cagliari have been awarded. The new activities, dedicated to catering and pleasure boating, will give further impetus to the process of redevelopment of the promenade.

Today is the publication of the decrees for the award of the public procedure for the assent, in maritime state concession for 10 years, of the three buildings built by the AdSP along the cycle-pedestrian promenade of Calata dei Trinitari in Cagliari.

Specifically, the assets involved in the public tender announced in the second half of 2022 are: two structures with a covered area of 132 square meters, plus 75 square meters each uncovered; one, the third, of 134 square meters plus 140 of open area.

«With today's signing of the award decrees, we finally close a complex process for the assent in maritime state concession of the buildings built by the Institution along the promenade of the Calata dei Trinitari di Su Siccu - explains Massimo Deiana, President of the AdSP of the Sea of Sardinia –. Three new entrepreneurial initiatives that will enrich an area that is gradually rediscovering its natural vocation with vitality and services, as envisaged in our master plan for the conversion of the entire waterfront into a recreational tourist key and its consecration as a new beating heart on the sea of the city of Cagliari».

The first, awarded to the company A.DOL.SAR srl - which will pay approximately 20,700 euros annually (with a 358 percent increase on the basic fee) - will be used as a cafeteria bar and small self-service catering. The second, which goes to the Cagliari Sailing Charter Srl company (annual fee of 15,550 and an increase of 170.53) for professional services for pleasure boating ( sale of boating accessories, handling administrative procedures, boat rental, tourist services, vehicle rental of land transport for micro-mobility). The last building, which will be used for self-service catering, was awarded to the company Settebello Srl, with an increase of more than 875.5 percent and an annual rent of around 35,700 euros.

The activities, together with the one awarded last year in the park of the former salt warehouses, will contribute to increasing the attractiveness and receptive potential of the entire seafront, providing the waterfront promenade with new services for the community and for pleasure boating.

Over the last two years, the Port System Authority has invested a total of 16 million euros in works for a project, that of the revitalization and gradual reconversion of the Cagliari seafront for tourism: from the demolition of the wall on Viale La Plaia and via Riva di Ponente, passing through the demolition of the silos, the construction of the wooden promenade of the Sant'Agostino gate, the total reconstruction of the Calata dei Trinitari promenade, up to the redevelopment of the former Magazzini del Sale shed and the park in front. Interventions to which will be added, starting from 2024, the redevelopment of the old maritime station and the section between the Sanità and Sant'Agostino piers of Cagliari, subject of the Project financing of the value of 34 million euros, awarded in recent days to the Temporary Association of Companies Marina di Porto Rotondo.
