Overwork for the firefighters of Sardinia, especially in the Centre-North, lashed by violent gusts of wind.

At least forty interventions took place in a few hours in the provincial territory of Sassari. The Fire Brigade teams worked on multiple fronts, from uprooted poles to uprooted trees, to making buildings safe due to falling rubble and tiles.

In Gallura, a team from Arzachena intervened in Santa Teresa due to the partial detachment of the sheet metal cladding from a wall of the sports hall. Also in Arzachena, in via Monticanu, the 115 went into action when an electrical cable came loose and fell onto the road. No injuries were reported.

Dozens of 115 interventions also in the Nuoro area.

In the city of Nuoro several trees or branches fell onto the roads and the wind also tore down house frames and electricity poles.

A tree fell on a car parked in Via Monsignor Cogoni, but fortunately without causing any damage to anyone.

In Orune the bell tower of the church of Santa Maria Maggiore was damaged by the wind and it took the intervention of a fire brigade team to make it safe.

Dozens of similar interventions by firefighters were also carried out in the towns of Baronia and lower Gallura, from Siniscola to Orosei up to Budoni.
