In the last week alone, a hundred kilos of sand and pebbles taken from the beaches of southern Sardinia were seized at Cagliari Elmas airport.

“Sardinia stolen and plundered” gives the news: «July 2023 collection. The usual vice that will never go out of style. Washing the donkey's head wastes time, water and soap. Also this autumn we will have to go around all the beaches to put everything back in its place », they write.

Like every year , the association has launched an information campaign to remind tourists and residents that it is forbidden by law to take sand, shells and pebbles away from the beaches , unfortunately still considered by many people as souvenirs to take home as a souvenir of the holiday in Sardinia.

The most looted beaches are Is Arutas and the entire coast of Baunei.
