Slowly. But Cala Luna is returning to its former glory. Grain by grain, the beach re-emerges after the wave of penalty of the codula, which dates back to last May 21st.

The only anomaly in this story is the period of heavy rains: generally the phenomenon does not break out in late spring. For the rest, the pearl beach of the Baunei coast owes its existence precisely to the balance between the sea and the freshwater stream, which has been re-establishing itself for millennia.

It is also happening these days, while the first tourists arrive: the beach, as documented by the photo by Giovanna Corrias, has not yet recovered and there are some strips of sand still separated from the water. But the color of the sea is the usual and wonderful one of this part of Sardinia.
