The Nebbiolo "Babbai Jolzi" of Tenute Villa Lauras wins the Grand Gold Medal, unique for Sardinia. The recognition came from the Città del Vino International Wine Competition.

It is the young Gallura winemaker Andrea Pala who signs a wine awarded with the highest recognition by a jury of experts. A few weeks ago, the Luras winemaker impressed the Vinitaly judges with his Vermentino di Gallura Superiore Docg.

The 2021 vintage was in fact awarded by the international jury of 5StarsWine with a score of 95/100, the best Vermentino in Italy, among the 4 best Sardinian wines, also included in the national top 15.

«The Grand Gold Medal at the Città del Vino International Wine Competition is an extraordinary result for a review that evaluated 1,400 samples from Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Luxembourg, Croatia, Moldova, Brazil and Korea of the South», explains Andrea Pala, «Italy was represented with 19 regions, therefore almost the entire country».

The wines of Sardinia, as a whole, have been awarded 20 Gold Medals and 7 Silver Medals.
