A sudden landslide created a huge sinkhole along the main access road to the town of Gesico , making the entire affected stretch impassable and causing a partial interruption of traffic.
Fortunately, there were no vehicles passing by at the time of the collapse and therefore no other damage or injuries were reported.

After the alarm was raised, the Carabinieri from the local station intervened on the scene to secure the area and block access.

Due to the landslide, access to the town is currently guaranteed only via the northern route, along the road that connects the town to the nearby municipality of Mandas.

Specialized technicians and road maintenance personnel have also been alerted to assess the damage and plan the necessary restoration work.
