The "Carnevale Quartese" is back: the rich program of parades and animations

The carnival returns in style to Quartu Sant'Elena after a three-year absence due to the restrictions related to the pandemic. The program includes parades and animations throughout the city until February 25th.
It starts on Thursday 16 with "Is Tiaulus de Domus de Luna" , the fashion show for children of all ages organized by the Domus de Luna Foundation, the ExMe and Affini Cooperative and the Casa delle Stelle Cooperative with the contribution of the Municipality's Department of Social Policies . The route will wind between Piazza Sacro Cuore, Via Negri, Via Settembrini, Via Beccaria, Via Niccolo Tommaseo, Via Manara, Via Montenegro, Via XX Settembre, Piazza Dessì, Via Martini, Piazza XXVIII Aprile, Via Eligio Porcu, Parco Matteotti (ex Convent Capuchins).
Upon arrival, donuts will be distributed for everyone.
On 21 February, Shrove Tuesday, the "Carnevale Quartese" comes to life, proposed by the local Pro Loco, in collaboration with the Teatro Circo Maccus and with the patronage of the Administration. From 17 to 20 there will be a parade along Via Colombo with jugglers, stilt walkers and fire-breathers. Grand finale in Piazza Santa Maria di Cepola with the masks of Virginia Viviano's commedia dell'arte. Followed by entertainment with fairground games for children.
Saturday 25 February at 3.30 pm the gathering of groups, floats and masks in via Czechoslovakia; departure of the parade at 4.30 pm towards Via Polonia - Via Fiume - Via L. Merello - Via Sicilia - Via A. Diaz - Via Marconi - Via Eligio Porcu - Piazza XXVIII Aprile.
