«New hospitals are always needed, but first of all we need to make those that already exist work well», and in any case «the absolute priority will be the creation of an excellent pediatric hospital. Sardinian children must have the best care on the island." This is said by Alessandra Todde, governor in pectore, who also intervenes on the controversy of recent days regarding the conditions of the San Francesco di Nuoro .

«The denied right to health is one of the most important reasons why Sardinians voted for change: the health of Sardinians will be in the first place among my thoughts and actions», he adds.

Under discussion is one of the last resolutions signed by the Solinas council, the one on "acknowledgment of the feasibility studies presented by the health companies for the creation of four new facilities" (in Cagliari, in the Sulcis Iglesiente, in Alghero and in Sassari) approved two days before the elections along with many other last minute elections, which sparked a crossfire of controversy between the incoming governor and the outgoing governor. The objective is obviously not negotiable: it is certain that Sardinia needs structural and organizational modernisation, redevelopment of technological equipment, better accessibility to health services, in short, a more efficient healthcare network. What's wrong are the methods, the times, the imperfect projects, the half-baked financing, the random figures (will 2 billion euros be needed?) the lack of consultation with the territories, the back and forth over the fate of the Brotzu, the uncertainties about the future of the "old" hospitals.
