They will begin this morning with a CT scan and then, perhaps this evening or in the next few days with an autopsy, the medical-legal tests ordered by the Prosecutor's Office on the little body of the baby girl who died on Monday at the Policlinico in Monserrato, an hour after being born with an emergency cesarean section decided by the doctors because the mother had suffered a placental abruption in the 35th week.
Yesterday morning, Deputy Prosecutor Gilberto Ganassi appointed Brotzu's consultants, Giovanni Paolo Maietta and Giorgia Locci, a medical examiner and a pathologist. They will be the ones to clarify the causes of death and whether there are any responsibilities.
Two investigations were opened immediately after the news of the tragedy: one internal, requested by the health management of the university hospital, the other criminal, decided by the public prosecutor on duty when he was informed of the little girl's death by the same health workers.
