The Ministry of Tourism, on its official account, also pays homage to Her Majesty Cala Goloritzè, the most beautiful beach in the world according to the ranking drawn up by travellers, travel bloggers and influencers for the American web portal “The World's 50 Best Beaches 2025”.

The image from the Ministry of Tourism's Instagram account was relaunched by the Facebook profile of the municipality of Baunei. "We thank Minister Daniela Santanchè," commented the mayor of Baunei Stefano Monni, "for highlighting the most beautiful beach in the world."

Already famous in its own right, Cala Goloritzè, which is taken by storm by thousands of holidaymakers every year, will certainly be even more popular this season, after the prestigious recognition. Among the beaches of the Baunei Coast, it is the most protected of all, given that access is permitted only by land, from the Golgo plateau, in the Su Porteddu area, to a maximum of 250 people at a time, upon reservation - and payment of the 7 euro ticket for maintenance of the path and to ensure surveillance - with a dedicated App.

With boats prohibited from docking since the 1980s, the small beach has gradually increased its number of visitors year after year, and since 2016 the municipality of Baunei has established a “limited number”, launching a quota system that has since been re-proposed by the municipality on other beaches along the coast. In fact, a few years later Cala Biriala (maximum 300 bathers), Cala Gabbiani (350 people) and Cala Mariolu (maximum 700 people at the same time) were added to Cala Goloritzè, which last year ranked second in “The World's 50 Best Beaches”.

The limitation of access along the Baunei coast, which in some way anticipated the reflections related to the recent phenomenon of overtourism, has been opposed by many parties - there are many interests at stake - but after many years it was replicated, last year, also by the neighboring municipality of Dorgali, with the institution of a restricted number of people at Cala Luna, a spectacular and fragile beach where Baunei and Dorgali border, with a maximum limit of 900 people at the same time and with the associated payment of a ticket of one euro. "Protection equals beauty", therefore, could be the new promotional slogan of the wild Baunei coast, which in two consecutive years, with Cala Mariolu last year and Cala Goloritzè this year, has twice climbed to the podium of the world ranking drawn up by the portal "The World's 50 Best Beaches 2025".
