Hundreds of people took part in the funeral of Daniela Cadeddu this morning, the 51-year-old killed by her husband in Zeddiani with a hammer while she was sleeping. The ceremony took place in Cabras, the woman's country of origin.

"Society must be called to take action with all its strength to fight feminicides and violence against women, we all pray for these atrocious crimes", said Don Giuseppe in the church of Santa Maria Assunta.

Among those present, in addition to the mother, the brothers and sisters of the victim and friends, also the mayors of Cabras and Zeddiani, Andrea Abis and Claudio Pinna.

The parish priest, in his homily, recalled the words of Pope Francis on violence against women and femicides, appealing to the communities to take action.

"I will also ask my children for this minute of silence - commented the mayor Abis - even the school director sent a circular to start an in-depth study on the issues of femicide and violence against women. These are delicate and very important topics that must be structured . Femicides and violence against women are a cultural fact and the path of change must already be undertaken at school, as a child ".
