The hiker hospitalized at Brotzu fell into a cliff and died

Gianni Cannas, the hiker from Terralba who fell off a cliff between Gutturu Xeu and Punta Martinedda, in Iglesias, did not make it.

The 72-year-old man died after 16 days in hospital.

The accident occurred while Cannas was with some friends: perhaps due to a collapsed rock, he fell into the cliff, about twenty meters deep, then ending up on the rocks.

Transported by the 118 air ambulance to the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari, he was in a coma in the intensive care unit.

There are many messages of condolence arriving on his Facebook page in these hours. Cannas was an expert hiker, known and well-liked throughout the environment.
