Madness in Carbonia, a fight involving clubs and knives in the town center: Carabinieri officers attacked. This afternoon, Carabinieri officers from the Carbonia Police Station arrested six people involved in a violent brawl that broke out on Via Dalmazia, in the town's central area. They are all young foreigners, charged with various counts of aggravated brawl, resisting arrest, and assault on a public official .
The military's intervention was triggered by numerous reports to the emergency number 112, reporting a heated and violent clash between two groups of individuals . When patrols arrived on the scene, the brawlers not only ignored orders to stop and remain calm, but, in addition to continuing to attack each other with clubs and knives, some of them even attacked the Carabinieri in a vain attempt to free their fellow citizens who had been secured.
To bring the situation under control, immobilize the most aggressive individuals and avoid serious consequences for the safety of those present and the soldiers themselves, the Carabinieri were forced to extract and use the electrical impulse device ( Taser) provided.
All those arrested have been placed at the disposal of the Cagliari judicial authorities pending a summary trial. Investigations are continuing to clarify the motives behind the violent fight.
