The Grotta di Nettuno is the most visited environmental site in Sardinia. With over 227,000 visitors in 2022, the cave is confirmed as the most loved by tourists from all over the world.

Compared to 2019, when there were 195,738 tickets detached, there was an increase of 16 percent. For the first time in history, therefore, the extraordinary monumental complex of Capo Caccia manages to break through the two hundred thousand presences. Merit of some structural improvements made during the year, such as the new LED lighting and the presence of the fiber that anticipates the arrival of new audio guides.

But the surge in visitors has also affected the city's museum system. «It is the effect of the Alghero Experience, the tourism promotion project carried out by the Foundation and the Municipality, with the contribution of the Riviera del Corallo Tourist Consortium», the municipal offices say. Here too, the numbers are important: 10,941 visitors registered at the Coral Museum (+238% on 2019), 5,666 at the Archaeological Museum (+140%); visitors to the archaeological areas are still growing: 27,589 in Palmavera (there had been 17,000 in 2021) and 16,035 at the Anghelu Ruju Necropolis (+4.58%).
