It started a few weeks late, but summer has overwhelmed Sardinia since last weekend. Temperatures have soared in recent days, in some cases even exceeding the critical threshold of 40 degrees.

Now the Regional Civil Protection is keeping its attention high, with an alert - which began yesterday - extended until Thursday evening: from today to the day after tomorrow, the maximum temperatures will be "widely above 37 degrees, with local peaks around 44 degrees ". The forecasts for the night are also frightening, with the great heat that could rob the island's inhabitants of sleep: minimum temperatures of 24 degrees are expected, but in many cases the quota will exceed 30 .

Those hoping for a truce will have to wait for Friday , when temperatures are expected to drop. The thermometer could also drop a few notches on Saturday, but with still four days to go, new changes to the forecasts are not excluded.
