A great discovery that brought to light the story of Pharaoh Tutankhamun, symbol of the entire Egyptian civilization. In Stintino special guest Christian Greco, director of the Egyptian museum of Turin, who, on Friday 7 July at 19.30, at the Museo della Tonnara will tell how all this was possible, accompanying the audience on a fascinating journey that begins with the religious reform of the pharaoh "heretic" Akhenaten and explores the mysteries related to Tutankhamun - from his ancestry to the causes of death - up to investigating the impact that the legendary objects found in the tomb have had on the contemporary imagination. On the occasion of the conference entitled "In search of Tutankhamun", the director will recall when in November 1922 Howard Carter entered the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun, making the religious beliefs on the basis of which his tomb was built true.
Saturday's will be the third initiative that sees Christian Greco as protagonist at the Tonnara Museum in Stintino; in fact in 2017 he held a conference on Dialogue between Egyptology and Science: Archaeometry as a tool, research as an end and in 2018 he was awarded, together with the museum he directs, the "Stintino Award for scientific dissemination" and the award ceremony he concluded with his lectio magistralis entitled "The rediscovered context: protagonist objects at the Egyptian Museum".
