Progressive music is not just history, but also a present experienced by many artists: and at the In Progress... One festival, from 10 to 14 September in Sestu, many of the current artisans of prog will perform, alongside legends such as the Dutch Focus and the Neapolitans Il Balletto di Bronzo and already famous names such as Raoul Moretti, in an initiative of the Mediteuropa association with the support of the Municipality, the Region and the Fondazione Sardegna.

The program

The first event, at 8:30 PM on Wednesday the 10th, will see the Gianluca Tozzi Trio and the Resonant Paths quartet perform at Spazio Samsa on Via Antonio Gramsci 5. On Thursday the 11th, the music will move to Casa Ofelia on Via Parrocchia 88 where, again at 8:30 PM, guitarist Roberto Deidda will perform solo, anticipating this year's first big guests: Focus, a band founded in 1969 and considered one of the leading exponents of European progressive rock. After releasing masterpieces like "Moving Waves" and "Hamburger Concerto" in the 1970s, the group is now touring with a lineup re-created in 2001. The program will continue at Casa Ofelia on the evening of Friday the 12th, with live performances by keyboardist Mauro Mulas and, subsequently, by the group Il Balletto di Bronzo: between the 1960s and 1970s, the group, which began with beat and laboriously transitioned to prog with the album "Sirio 2222", found success again with their second, highly regarded album, "Ys". Having reformed in the last decade, the group has returned to the scene with concerts and new albums: their latest, "Lemures," was released in 2023. On Saturday the 13th, they will return to Spazio Samsa, with an opening act by Italian-Swiss musician Raoul Moretti. Boasting numerous renowned collaborations (Elisa, Fiorello, Beppe Dettori), the harpist will perform for the Sesto audience, bringing his instrument and electronic music together. The evening will close with the Angiolini Bros Quartet, presenting their new album, "The Art of my Heart." The eighteenth edition will conclude on Saturday the 13th, again at Via Gramsci 5: first with the improvisations of Cagliari's Andiperla, and then, also from Cagliari, with Elettroflebo and their album, "C'è Poco Dio."
