The bomb that got caught in the net of a Teulada fisherman was an aircraft bomb, which yesterday imposed the issuing of an ordinance prohibiting access to the port, numerous beaches and also on the streets in the area.

This was announced by the Coast Guard, which issued the interdiction order which for one day blocked all tourist and sea activities along a large stretch of coast next to the shooting range. The bomb was reported last night at a depth of seven meters, a short distance from the docks of the tourist port: it was transported there in the net of some fishermen, who dragged it from the open sea. Thus the alarm procedures were triggered . And all the access roads to the risk area have also been closed, for a radius of two kilometers.

The Coast Guard and the Sdai Nucleus of the Navy were immediately mobilized: this morning the device was recovered and transferred off the coast of the Red Island, where it was detonated.

Around 13 the mayor Angelo Milia's communication arrived: «We inform you that the roadblock has been removed. Therefore access to the beaches and the port has been restored. We apologize for the inconvenience".

Timely action, to avoid damage to tourism businesses. The Captaincy speaks of "probable remnants of war": the doubt that it is a bomb left there who knows from which exercise remains.

"Just a month has passed since the fishermen of Teulada were able to resume fishing and since the beaches were reopened, after the end of the massive military exercises last May", attacks the anti-militarist committee A Foras, "but this tormented community unfortunately he can't find peace. The find causes significant economic damage, as well as image damage, for the Teuladine companies that are trying with difficulty to build a job perspective in the 4 summer months in which the bombings stop».

Then the lunge: «We don't know if the bomb found today was launched in the latest military maneuvers or in one of the thousands of exercises that have been repeated for decades. What we do know, however, is that the exercises of the armed forces are intrinsically incompatible with the economic activities of the local population".
