Gallura is the wine capital, with numbers confirming the success of Benvenuto Vermentino. The twelfth edition of the event has been a positive outcome, according to the Northern Sardinia Chamber of Commerce. Through its Special Agency, Promocamera, the event promoted, organized, and funded the event in collaboration with the Municipality of Olbia, the Consortium for the Protection of Vermentino di Gallura DOCG, and trade associations. The six-day event transformed Olbia's city center into a showcase dedicated to the region's iconic grape variety, bringing together food and wine, tourism, and economic promotion. Ninety wineries participated, presenting 108 labels and uncorking over 1,000 bottles. Of these, approximately 600 were Vermentino di Gallura DOCG, 300 Vermentino di Sardegna DOC, and 150 from Liguria and Tuscany. The event attracted numerous enthusiasts, with a significant number of international visitors, confirming the initiative's potential for promoting tourism and promoting seasonality. Tastings led by AIS sommeliers attracted over 450 participants, while the three Wine Talks, dedicated to in-depth discussions on the sector, attracted more than 350 industry professionals. Feedback from the accompanying initiatives was also positive: from the Shopping & Wine Experience, which involved the city's businesses, to the Crafts Exhibition hosted at the Archaeological Museum, featuring the creations of numerous Sardinian artisans. The program was rounded out by events and performances that helped enliven the city center. Promocamera President Maria Amelia Lai expressed her satisfaction, emphasizing the value of collaboration between institutions, businesses, and associations. "Benvenuto Vermentino is now a mature model of territorial governance, capable of networking between businesses, institutions, and associations," she stated, emphasizing the goal of promoting the entire food and wine production chain of Northern Sardinia and strengthening its presence on international markets. With the twelfth edition now over, attention is already turned to the next event, with the goal of consolidating the regional network and promoting Sardinia's excellent winemaking and production.
