New expert examinations of the clothing and the reconstruction of the accident. The Prosecutor's Office is moving in this direction to shed full light on the death of Claudio Manca, the 49-year-old man from Terralba found dead in a canal on Provincial Road 92 on September 26.
According to prosecutor Marco De Crescenzo, Battista Manis, a Terralba businessman, deliberately ran over Manca, who was riding his bicycle, then beat him, holding him responsible for the arson attack on his home . Manis, currently in prison charged with voluntary homicide, along with lawyers Antonio Pinna Spada, Ivano Chiesa, and Cristina Mossone, has maintained his innocence but remains the only suspect at this time.
Rumors have revealed that on September 25th he was not the one driving the Golf , owned by his partner, but managed to veer off the steering wheel, hitting his rival. There are several aspects to clarify and objective evidence is being sought, so the Carabinieri seized, in addition to Manis's clothes, the trousers, sweatshirt, and T-shirt of his partner (who is not under investigation) . Investigators believe that those clothes may have been worn by Manis, perhaps even when he was caught on camera at a car wash wearing some sort of pajamas (similar to a unicorn or a rabbit).
Manca's clothing has already been examined for any biological traces. Meanwhile, an expert will be appointed on November 5th to reconstruct the accident. The inspection by coroner Roberto Demontis, consultants Domenico Nuvoli and Roberto Tuveri (referred to by Fabio Costa, who is representing the victim's family), and Danilo Fois (for the defense) has already revealed that the marks on the car are consistent with those on the victim's mountain bike.
