Ten Sardinian emergency rooms at risk of closure, call for doctors to rent at 85 euros an hour
They had been introduced by the center-right and the M5s contested them, now Ares decides to once again resort to coin-operated gowns. But it is controversy in the wide fieldPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
An expensive patch that would not have solved the problem: this is how the opposition 5 Star Movement defined the center-right council's use of rented doctors to plug the gaps in the emergency room staffing in Sardinia. Now the Five Star Movement is in government of the Region. And Ares has just announced a tender to recruit coin-operated scrubs to be deployed for a year in 10 hospitals on the island, at 85 euros an hour. Estimated expenditure: 6.5 million. Which between extension options, contributions and mandatory fifth becomes 9.9 million.
The reason? The emergency is total, the contract in force expires in the summer and there is a risk of healthcare chaos with the island full of tourists. But the decision creates tensions in the majority. «The procedure must be stopped immediately»: Francesco Agus (Progressives) is convinced of this, against the privatization of the emergency system when he was in the minority, but also now that he is aligned in the coalition that supports Alessandra Todde.
