On the confirmed case of the outbreak of African swine fever in a livestock farm in Dorgali, the ASL of Nuoro reassures citizens, breeders and producers of the supply chain: «There is no risk of any kind, as action has been taken promptly and scrupulously through the Animal Health Complex Structure, which confirmed that it was genotype 2 of the non-endemic African Swine Fever virus. The tracing of the supply chain is currently being completed, but the situation is calm and under strict control."

Immediately, it is underlined, the ASL of Nuoro proceeded «to notify the measures adopted to the Veterinary Public Health and Food Safety Service of the Region, to the Project Unit, to the Veterinary Public Health Services of the ASL of Nuoro and to the Stations of the Municipal Police, the Forestry Corps and the Carabinieri of the municipalities concerned, bodies entrusted with the task of ensuring compliance with the provisions".

Timeliness, he concludes, "is crucial in preventing the spread of the virus in the environment and therefore the onset of secondary outbreaks".
