Swine fever, from January 2024 the "red zone" in Barbagia and Ogliastra has been canceled

Starting from January 2024, the red zone will be canceled in the twelve municipalities of Barbagia and Ogliastra still "hostage" of the African swine fever.

This was learned from the zooprophylactic institute, which sent a communication to the mayors of the centers concerned, after the Ministry of Health gave the green light to the protocol for the regularization of pigs in the wild.

The restrictions imposed on the market and on the marketing of meat from the area hitherto subject to an embargo are therefore on their way to an end.
