«The Council of Ministers , on the proposal of the Minister for Regional Affairs and Autonomies Roberto Calderoli , has examined fifteen regional laws and has therefore decided to challenge the law of the Sardinia Region n. 20 of 05/12/2024, on “Urgent measures for the identification of areas and surfaces suitable and unsuitable for the installation and promotion of renewable energy source (FER) plants and for the simplification of authorization procedures”».
This is what is stated in a press release issued by the Meloni Government , which also explains the reasons for the appeal. According to the Executive, certain provisions of the law on Suitable Areas "exceeding the statutory competences and conflicting with state and European legislation on energy and cultural and landscape assets, violate Articles 117 , first paragraph, second paragraph, letter m) and s), and third paragraph, of the Constitution, as well as the principles of equality referred to in Article 3 of the Constitution , of certainty of law and legitimate expectation and of freedom of economic initiative referred to in Article 41 of the Constitution".
