Dissatisfaction. This is the recurring sentiment in the Sassari healthcare system, expressed by Fp Cgil, Cisl Fp, and Uil Fp, regarding the Aou dispute that has already led to three days of strike action, the last two last week.
The negative climate was confirmed after the company management's hearing before the Regional Council's Health Commission, held on October 14th. The common ground between the social partners was one phrase: "Enough with the promises." The demands are well-known, from the immediate release of funds and contractual resources due to staff, to staff reinforcements, and measures to address overcrowding in departments. Critical issues on which the Commission, according to Fp Cgil, has failed to achieve "anything."
And, above all, nothing is certain about the future while, meanwhile, the CISL Fp emphasizes, the administrative and accounting stalemate that is plaguing workers continues. The union proposes the establishment of the "General States of Sassari Healthcare," an urgent extraordinary conference to be attended by the regional presidency, the health commission, company management, and the unions to sign a final document with specific deadlines. The Uil Fp is also staunch, emphasizing the gap between words and actions.
And he asks: if AOU management declares that the funds are available, and says it is "willing to pay, why is it opposing the injunctions filed by workers to obtain the sums they are owed?" The UIL's conclusion: there's no need for new meetings, we need to pay immediately.
