Wind power assault: the opposition pushes for a City Council to be set to decide on suitable areas. Lega, Forza Italia, Fratelli d'Italia, UDC and Prima Alghero have filed a formal request for an urgent convocation of the civic assembly. "It is incredible that Mayor Cacciotto did not feel the need to involve the City Council, which represents the entire Alghero community, to share decisions that can negatively affect the future of our territory", declare the center-right representatives.

"It is not known what kind of technical contribution the Municipality of Alghero has offered to the Region, as requested by the latter, with a note from the regional councilor for EE.LL Francesco Spanedda on August 26th. Whatever conclusions the Municipal Administration of Alghero reached, it was essential that they were previously shared and agreed with the City Council, starting with the majority. It is not acceptable to assume such information in the corridors or, worse, in bars", continues the center-right.

"Therefore, in the spirit of maximum collaboration with the administration, we felt it was our duty to request a specific session for a topic that must see the entire Alghero politics united," conclude the mayor's political opponents.
