The staff of the Alpine Rescue Station of the Guardia di Finanza of Nuoro rescued two climbers - a 29-year-old Piedmontese and a 34-year-old Tuscan - who were stuck about three-quarters of the way up the "Umbras" climbing route, on Mount Corrasi, in the territory of the Municipality of Oliena.

The two - expert climbers - had problems during the route, over 300 meters long, near the north-west edge of Cusidore, when the ropes they were using got stuck.

The strong wind made the situation worse, which also swept away the thermal blankets that the two had brought with them.

At that point - now late at night - the alarm went off and the Alpine Rescue technicians of the SAGF of Nuoro intervened on the spot, reaching the top of the hill after dawn and subsequently, with the wind dropping, they managed to reach the climbers in difficulty, stopped on the wall at about 250 meters above sea level, and bring them back down by double rope.

A rescue operation that lasted several hours, but fortunately ended in the best possible way.
