Sardinia continues to grapple with heat and thunderstorms. While rain, thunder, lightning, and wind are reported in the capital and the Cagliari area, tomorrow is expected to be another day of fire risk and hydrogeological risk due to thunderstorms.

Two warnings have been issued by the regional Civil Protection Department. The first, valid from noon on Thursday until midnight , includes a yellow alert (ordinary criticality) for hydrogeological risk caused by thunderstorms, affecting mainly central-western Sardinia, excluding the Sulcis and Oristano areas.

The second warning concerns the "yellow" risk of fires. The map of the island is divided in two, with the alert for the western part.
