Stop everyone, cross the flamingo: traffic blocked at Poetto
The viral shot of a pink flamingo crossing the road, as buses and cars stop to let it pass
A flamingo that blocks the traffic for a few moments to cross the road in front of the Poetto beach in Cagliari.
The scene, immortalized in a shot by Vincenzo Carta, went viral thanks also to a post by the city councilor Fabrizio Marcello, who published his friend's shot.
The episode took place this morning in front of the Marino hospital.
«Everyone stops, His Majesty the Flamingo passes - writes Marcello in the post -. The nice thing was that the Ctm bus with the other cars stopped, he had some shots taken, until his majesty resumed his walk on the hundred thousand beach, where he even allowed himself a swim. It happens at the Poetto in Cagliari».
The road is located right between the Poetto beach and the wetland area of the Molentargius park, where the pink flamingos have been at home and nesting for decades.
