The Guardia di Finanza and the Carabinieri have implemented a preventive seizure decree of assets ordered by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations at the Court of Nuoro and carried out searches against a man from Orune accused of being part of an organization dedicated to cultivation and the trafficking of marijuana.

"The operation - the investigators explain - stems from investigations conducted since 2021 starting from the area of Ascoli Piceno where a shipment of about 160 kg of marijuana from the Nuoro area had been located at the depot of a well-known courier".

The "source" of the narcotic substance was later discovered, precisely in the Nuoro area, where three people were investigated and over 2,400 cannabis plants and 583 kg of leaves and inflorescences destined for illegal sale were discovered.

The investigations then continued on the assets of the suspects and their family members, one of whom, owner of a cattle breeding business, had had "an unusual and inexplicable enrichment" obtained, the investigators say, using the relatives as a frontman and employing huge amounts of cash.

In addition to an Audi A5, the man had also registered two properties with a total value of over 320,000 euros "disproportionate to the declared income".

For this reason, the military have now triggered the seizure of assets attributable to him.
