He had forced open the window of a butcher's shop in Stampace , then sneaking inside the room and taking possession of 100 euros in cash kept in the cash register.

So he had fled, forgetting however a wrench used for the break-in and on which the carabinieri found traces of blood.

A "signature" of the crime committed and which, just over two months after the events, which occurred on 14 May last, allowed the Cagliari RIS military to identify the perpetrator of the theft: a 28-year-old from Iglesias, already known to police.

The man was then reported on the loose for aggravated theft .
