Investigators suspect that salesman Luigi Gulisano and his wife Marisa Dessì were poisoned on Wednesday, December 4 , the day before they were found in their home on Via Ghibli , in the Quartiere del Sole in Cagliari , right after breakfast. This is because, apparently, no trace of lunch was found in the couple's stomachs and, for the entire day of December 4, the phone records confirm that they never answered the phone. However, the latest rumors suggest that on that Wednesday, the 79-year-old former salesman went out in the morning and then returned home just before lunch. The hypothesis that sodium nitrite was used in place of sugar or salt, or dissolved in milk, therefore remains open, but at the moment it is still a mystery how and when the husband and wife came into contact with the toxic substance .
And Claudio Gulisano, 44, remains in prison , accused of the murder of his parents. After the validation of the arrest yesterday morning , the preliminary investigations judge, Ermengarda Ferrarese, ordered his detention in prison in the evening , accepting the request of the deputy prosecutor Rossana Allieri. In addition to the serious evidence, the risk of escape also weighs : the forty-four-year-old is married to a Ukrainian woman and the investigators fear that he might ask his wife's relatives for accommodation .
In the meantime, Claudio Gulisano's lawyer, Luigi Sanna, is starting to study the material collected by the Prosecutor's Office and hypothesizes that consultants will also be called in .
