One hundred children learn to speak and sing in Sassari . An undertaking made possible by the Insulas funds of the Region which protect and enhance minority languages and which, since January, have started a course dedicated to the Turritan language in the San Donato Montessori Primary School Comprehensive Institute.
A work that has recently reached its stage results in front of the public in via Bottego. «The little ones, from six to ten years old - says the music teacher Gian Paolo Roggio - have learned the language and have learned to sing a new song like 'Semmu di Santu Dunadu.'" An almost rap piece where the children express themselves with the Sassari filter, thus referring to the beating heart of the historic center and, subsequently, they perform with the typical musical canon of the city such as "Li candareri" and "Carraioru di Ruseddu".
«It was also a matter - explains teacher Sara Muroni - of learning traditions and getting closer to one's roots. Even if several children are neither from Sassari nor from Sardinia." The “Ischora di Sassaresu” association also proposed the project. «We are proud that the proposal was successful thanks to the school and the director Patrizia Mercuri».
