Scary accident in the early afternoon in Sorso. Around 3 pm a truck crashed near the Silis river, on the road that leads to Castelsardo. The vehicle, for reasons yet to be determined, suddenly went off the road, overturned and fell into a ravine.

The injured driver managed to free himself from the passenger compartment of the heavy vehicle and, with the help of some passers-by, alerted the emergency services. Two 118 ambulances arrived promptly at the scene of the accident, one of which was medicalized and came from Porto Torres and the other from Sorso.

The driver was promptly rescued by health workers and taken to Santissima Annunziata for checks. His conditions are not serious. The firefighters of the Sassari detachment were on site to secure and recover the vehicle.
