During the last City Council, the Municipality of Sorso delivered a plaque of merit to Chief Brigadier Stefano Falchi, new Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic
The ceremony was also attended by the Captain of the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Sassari Yuri Abbate, the Commander of the Carabinieri Station of Sorso Gianluca Porcheddu and the family members of Stefano Falchi.
«Thank you all - said Brigadier Stefano Falchi visibly excited - and I'm happy to be here today, in the place where I was born and raised, right here in front, in lu patiu. This honor, as well as the one received from the President of the Republic, honors me but I want to share it with everyone, considering it not personal to me. Any carabiniere, any person, faced with an extremely serious situation like the one in which the little girl we helped was in, would have done something and I did what had to be done».
Mayor Fabrizio Demelas, during the ceremony, underlined the great willpower and expressed his appreciation for Stefano Falchi's work.
