You see him every day with his long white beard, his cap, the Unione Sarda in his hand. He doesn't give up his walk despite the scorching heat. He was a shepherd but also a cyclist, an improvising poet, he collected his exploits as a champion on a bike, in one of his books. Sardinia, Cosimo Lai, 87 from Sinnai, has traveled far and wide with his bike. He was a Sardinian champion on the road and on the track. "I signed for the Pratobello Law dreaming of the end of the nightmare I'm living. I never thought I'd live such sad days: the devastation of Sardinia with wind turbines and photovoltaics. A barbarity. I follow everything carefully through the Unione Sarda and Videolina: seeing how they are reducing our dear Island hurts".

Cosimo Lai invites everyone to react. «Get in line, let's all sign. We cannot abandon our land in such a difficult moment. We will not accept this. There is the future of our children and grandchildren. Away with the foreigner from home, away with the wind turbines from where until now we have done tourism, agriculture, sheep farming, where we have archaeological sites, where we have greenery. I hope that those who have the power to do so will take into account the anger and protest of the Sardinians. Sardinia must remain a wonderful land. There is still time to win this battle. All together, without looking at political colors for a common good: our land, our hopes. We must not give up. The ideals, the pride, the love for the Island are not for sale».
