Tests conducted by ARPAS on October 27th speak clearly: the water coming from the taps of homes in the hamlet of San Vero Congius , in the municipality of Simaxis , contains coliform bacteria and iron levels exceeding legal limits. This is why Mayor Giacomo Obinu signed an ordinance today prohibiting the use of this water resource for drinking purposes. However, it is permitted for personal hygiene, house cleaning, and laundry.

The Municipality has received the notification from the Oristano Local Health Authority. The ordinance will be revoked as soon as the results of the control tests certify that the parameters are within the limits.

The mayor then ordered Abbanoa to implement all necessary measures to restore water compliance , including repairs to the network and increased analytical controls, in coordination with the local health authority. This is not the first time that water has come out of the taps of homes in the San Vero Congius district yellow.

Obinu: "The pipeline is old and leaks iron. Some time ago, after requesting intervention, they replaced part of the pipeline, but it's not enough."
