A solution to the shortage of doctors in Sardinia? "The agreement with Cuban professionals", according to the representatives of the Sos Barbagia Mandrolisai committee, who speak of "an opportunity to give new life to a collapsing system, which should certainly be rethought, but which cannot be governed in a regime of perpetual emergency".

The position taken by public health activists was relaunched with a letter to the President of the Region, the Health Councilor and the Regional Council in which they ask to make operational the agreement stipulated with the State of Cuba and approved in a bipartisan manner in the previous legislature.

The same committee recalls that together with the mayors, they were the ones who pushed for the stipulation of the agreement, underlining «that it has brought many benefits to difficult situations such as Calabria, where Cuban doctors have integrated perfectly into the hospital structures and have distinguished themselves for their professionalism and efficiency».

"Political times", warns the committee, "must adapt to the needs of the citizen but for years now the opposite has happened and this is no longer acceptable. We are getting back on track and if the answers do not arrive we will make ourselves heard directly in Cagliari".
