The experts' examination has begun on the vessel, found by a fishing boat at a depth of 35 meters, off the coast of Marritza, and then recovered by the Porto Torres Coast Guard with the support of a specialized company.
On the boat, a six-meter semi-cabin cruiser, presumably stolen from the Alti Fondali dock of the Porto Turritano on April 12, 2023, the day of the shipwreck, were the two cousins from Sassari, Giovannino Pinna, 35, who survived the tragedy, and Davide Calvia, 37, who was found lifeless off the coast of Lu Bagnu, in Castelsardo, ten days later.
20 months after the shipwreck, there are still too many questions about what happened that day. The discovery of the stolen boat, kept in a warehouse of the Porto Torres Coast Guard and seized at the disposal of the judicial authorities, could solve the mystery of an affair involving the two cousins. The Calvia family has appointed an expert who, together with the experts indicated by the magistrate, could bring to light elements useful for building the dynamics.
Giovannino Pinna is under investigation for shipwreck and manslaughter, as well as theft of the boat. More than a year and a half after the tragedy, the Calvia family continues to ask for justice. Today would have been Davide Calvia's birthday. Many friends and his sister Nadia Calvia remember him: "It's been two years since I could pick up my cell phone and call you to wish you a happy birthday in person."
