Ships and ferries to Cagliari are reduced to the bare minimum . Finding a cabin is also extremely difficult , if not impossible, depending on the route. And while Olbia and Golfo Aranci are the hubs of passenger transport, precisely because shipping companies prioritize tourists, calves destined for the fattening centers on the Italian peninsula are being left behind in the Gallura ports .
So, the 2026 season is getting underway with the usual enormous burden of problems. Cagliari is connected by sea only by Grimaldi, the only remaining ferry company. Meanwhile, with Civitavecchia: it's no coincidence that cabins are sold out. Even in these days of June, given that the frequency isn't daily: there's a ship every two or three days, depending on the dates. An overnight cruise, however, can be made to and from the Lazio port, but in a seat. It costs €615, round trip, for a family with two children under eleven and a medium-sized car.
