The Court of Auditors has ordered Sfirs President Tonino Chironi to pay the bank 266,538 euros for the compensation received since January 1, 2021, despite his retirement.

The sentence was filed by the panel presided over by Judge Donata Cabras, who accepted the requests of the regional prosecutor . She had notified the president of the act of inculpation action, after discovering that he would continue to collect the salary of 90,000 euros from the bank of the Sardinia Region , despite having been put into retirement.

The treasury prosecutors believed that Tonino Chironi would no longer be able to receive the allowance , given that it is an in-house company of the Region and that there is a law in force that expressly prohibits pensioners from also receiving a public salary.

Born in Orani 72 years ago, the president of Sfirs has been a freelancer with a studio in Cagliari for over 40 years. He has been a bankruptcy trustee at the Court of Cagliari, mayor and auditor in public and private entities and companies, tax defender in disputes between taxpayers and the tax authorities in defense of the consumer . An expert consultant in financial, tax, commercial and corporate law, he has also been a manager of numerous public and private companies.

In the proceedings before the Court of Auditors that have just concluded, he was defended by the lawyer Francesco Cocco Ortu. The sentence has now been filed and Chironi will be able to appeal in Rome .
