Sexual violence in Bancali prison: convicted

2 years and 8 months' imprisonment. This is the sentence pronounced in the afternoon in court, in the assizes, against a 53-year-old Romanian accused of sexual violence in prison.

The sentence was pronounced by the panel chaired by Monia Adami, alongside Valentina Nuvoli and Paolo Bulla, who thus revised the sentence requested by the prosecutor Maria Paola Asara quantified at the last hearing, during the discussion, in 7 years.

According to the indictment, the man, defended by the lawyer Francesco Sasso, would have touched on multiple occasions, in 2019 and in the Bancali prison, the private parts of a cellmate, 25 years old at the time. The attacks against the young Sardinian would also have witnessed other prisoners and, on one occasion, the prison police would have intervened.

The civil party was assisted by the lawyer Monica Cazzari.
