Sexual harassment and violence: Torregrande pine forest maniac arrested

He was the terror of the women who frequent the Torregrande pine forest for jogging or walking. But now the alleged maniac has been arrested: the Oristano Police Headquarters' Flying Squad, after an extensive investigation, has arrested a 20-year-old Pakistani man on charges of sexual assault and harassment. He is believed to have been responsible for at least six incidents: it's possible that others have gone unreported.

The investigation, conducted by detectives from the Oristano Police Headquarters' Flying Squad, began following repeated reports and complaints filed by several women who, while in the pine forest, had been approached by a man who was insistent, invasive, and harassing. In several cases, the behavior escalated into acts of sexual violence.
The investigation was carried out through meticulous collection of information and testimonies, as well as through stakeouts in the area.

The contribution of one of the victims, who managed to photograph the man from a distance, proved crucial in identifying the alleged perpetrator, providing investigators with a particularly important piece of investigative evidence.

The investigating judge, sharing the evidence gathered by the Flying Squad, issued the precautionary measure of prison detention, deemed necessary given the seriousness of the facts, their repetition, and the precautionary needs connected to the concrete risk of repetition of the conduct.
